[BAT] Getting prism2ctl, libpcap, tcpdump and etherreal to cooperate

I'm trying to capture 802.11b data and view it with tcpdump or
etherreal on FreeBSD 4.4.
Using bsd-airtools and a SMC wavelancard I recompiled the kernel
and wicontrol. Doing so I was able to use prism2ctl and
prism2dump to see the Wavelan data flying by.
I then wanted to watch the Data withe tcpdump. I have gotten
tcpdump.org's latest libpcap and tcpdump from CVS build it and
tcpdump then shows some data which should be the beacons but
isn't able to decode it. If I save the data with tcpdump and
read it into an IEEE 802.11b enabled etherreal it also tells me
that there isonly undecodable mangled LCC data. But tcpdump and
etherreal sources show that both have IEEE 802.11b parsers.
Any hints?
