[BAT] wi0 init failed -- bad or normal (FW Forcing IRQ assignments).htm

Well I take back my last post. Running again this morning my laptop is again
producing the "wi0 init failed" messages and hanging. I tried a different
IRQ with no better luck. Guess it's back to square one.

Ok cool. I added "hw.pcic.intr_path=1" to /boot/loader.conf as you suggested
and that solved the problem. I specified IRQ 3 in /etc/pccard.conf since I'm
not using the serial port and knew for certain it was free. I've been
running for 30 minutes now without a problem (previously the longest it
would run was about 5 minutes).

Thanks so much for your help and quick response.

Jerry

This means that your pcic bridge is a pci device and that it is using
PCI interrupts, which give you no choice in the matter of what
interrupt to use. It may be that your bridge isn't properly setup
(likely by the bridge software) so you need to use ISA interrupts.

To do so, you'll need to add
        hw.pcic.intr_path=1
to your /boot/loader.conf file and reboot.
