[BAT] pcap error when starting dwepdump

After patching and compiling the FreeBSD 4.4 kernel
successfully as well compiling all airtools
successfullly, i run into this error when starting
dwepdump.  It's "error: unable to open device for
packet capture: BIOSECIF: wi0: Network is down".  

I did the following:
prism2ctl wi0 up
prism2ctl wi0 -m
dstumbler wi0
wicontrol -i wi0 -q [ssid]
dwepdump wi0 [logfile]

Dave or anyone, any suggestion?  Thx.
